UPDATE 11/18: A grand prize winner and two runners up have been chosen! Congratulations to grand prize winner, Clemence H for her DIY shoe lace bangle. And to the two runners up, Rachel Smith for her DIY stocking and advent calendar and Lauren Dare for her embroided sugar skull shoes.
I have a little somethin’, somethin’ to share this morning. And it kind of feels like Christmas is coming early (can you hear the jingle bells in the distance) because I’m giving away $250 to one lucky winner at the end of this week. Yep… $250!! Interested? Here’s the deal…
You may have heard that I teach a Skillshare course, The How-To on How-Tos, all about creating amazing share-worthy tutorials/ DIY projects. And as a part of the course, I’ve created a challenge – one that involves a cash prize… With the holidays right around the corner, I am hoping to inspire students to create something amazing for the busiest DIY season of the year. So I’m investing in one student’s dream project by offering a cash incentive of $250 in the form of a Visa gift card to help fund the crazy cool project you never thought you’d be able to make happen on your own.
Have you always wanted to create a giant photo booth backdrop made entirely of fresh flowers? Or buy power tools so you can design large scale furniture projects? Or pay a model or photographer to help you make your dream project come to life? Or fly to XYZ city to collaborate on a big project with your favorite blogger?…That is exactly what this money is for!
One lucky grand prize winner will receive a $250 scholarship to spend however they’d like on supplies, tools, labor, whatever, to make their crazy, ‘wish I had the money to make this happen’ tutorial/project come to life. The winner will also get a 30 minute one on one video session with me to flesh out ideas for the project, etc.
And there are more prizes as well… Two runner-ups will each receive a 30 minute one on one video feedback/ brainstorming session with me and will also have their work featured in an upcoming post on Paper & Stitch, along with the grand prize winner.
All you have to do to enter is sign up for my Skillshare class (use the code BLOG25 to receive 25% off) and submit your finished tutorial project (with photos and text) to the student gallery by the deadline of November 15th at 11:45pm EST. More details can be found on this page - click ‘learn more’ under the yellow challenge box on the right hand side of the screen.
I am happy to answer any questions you may have before entering – just leave a comment below and I’ll get back to you right away.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Good luck!

I am really connecting with the strange creatures that Emma Kidd has been imagining lately. They look like something right out of a dream – a bizarrely awesome dream that you never want to wake up from.
