When I was in elementary school, my best friend Dara, whom I did pretty much everything with, was a horse back rider. I went with her to a few of her competitions as a kid and more than a handful of her riding lessons as well.
At the end of each lesson, I would help her wash her horse off and brush him, and I remember thinking that horses were the most beautiful creatures I'd known to that point. Even after I was bit by one in the shoulder (it hurt so bad!).
So anyway, when I started to write today's post about Apples and Oats, all those childhood memories came rushing back to me. And I am so glad that they did. I haven't thought about Dara or the horses in years. Do you ever have flashbacks like that?
If you are a lover of animals, and horses especially, you will love this photography shop.

Ever have the urge to run through a wide-open field or meadow, as though you haven't a care in the world?
Yeah? Because I can feel that bubbling up in me right now too.
Granted, I have no idea where the nearest meadow would be to, kind of, fulfill that urge in myself at the moment, BUT I am feeling rather zen this afternoon after exploring Erin Johnson's photography shop.
Love her photographs! And actually, I am wondering where these images above were shot because the landscape is absolutely beautiful. Perfect that magical run (with a few spins) I am picturing in my head.
And the horse? Oh, I love horses. They are such magnificent creatures.
What about you? What is your favorite animal?
