6 DIYs to to try this weekend

Are you as excited for the long weekend as I am?

I’m planning to get ahead on a few work related things and then take a day or two off to lounge around in my pajamas. But not before trying my hand at a few end of summer projects…mostly food related.

Here are my DIY picks for the long Labor Day weekend…

1. a healthy Labor Day snack + DIY paper cones on Designlovefest

2.  marshmallow macaron sandwiches (tomorrow is national toasted marshmallow day)

3. mojito ice cubes (!!!) from Ashley on LuLu’s

4. edible nameplates made from pie crust (yum) and other DIY party ideas

5. funfetti creamsicles from Garlic My Soul on Studio DIY

6. a DIY cake dome for your favorite desserts from Mandi on A Beautiful Mess

Happy weekend to you! See you on Tuesday with an end of summer recipe.

Oh I am deffinitely looking forward to the weekend as much as you. I’ll be out in the woods, chillin.

So those creamsicles look perfectly amazing. Where does one find popsicle molds? Are there any other every-day kitchen objects that would work? Jes’ thoughts. 🙂

Hi Gianna. Amazon has great popsicle molds. I use this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000CF7H6/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0000CF7H6&linkCode=as2&tag=papernstitch-20&linkId=QFWL5LI3GX5IWERB

But you can also use regular cups as alternative popsicle molds, if you want to use common household items. Paper or plastic cups…even glass. As long as you have popsicle sticks and can put them in the freezer, you should be good to go.

I have just finished work and can’t wait for the weekend to start. I absolutely adore the cake dome and will definitely try and diy one! I will also make doughnuts, as I have been perfecting my recipe 🙂

I can’t believe there’s such a thing as a mojito ice cube… and that I didn’t know about this miraculous invention until now. Yum yum yum! Beautiful pictures and thank you for the inspiration. A lot on here that I’d love to make, too!

Hope you are enjoying your long weekend (and some pajama time!)
