A DIY Lovers Guide to Crafting the Rainbow

When you have a crazy talented friend, who also happens to have the same name as you, it’s a given that you share her new book, right?! Right!

My bud Brittany from The House that Lars Built just released a brand new (absolutely amazing) book called Craft the Rainbow: 40 Colorful Paper Projects from The House That Lars Built. If you know Brittany Watson Jepsen’s work, it’s safe to assume that this book is packed with unique project ideas, gorgeous color palettes, and (of course) beautiful styling and photography.

And I promise you, this book is all of those things! Click through for a sneak peek of some of my favorite projects from the book…

Craft the Rainbow (by The House that Lars Built).

The first thing that caught my eye about this book, other than all the things I mentioned above is the unique way it’s laid out by color. Each chapter is dedicated to a different color, hence the title, Craft the Rainbow. As someone who cares a great deal about colors and how they work together in design (and DIYs), I really enjoyed this. It’s like a short cut to the projects you know you’ll love most, based on your fave colors. A few of my fave DIYs from the book are the paper brooches and earrings, the curtain tassel tieback, the paper disc bracelets, and the boucherouite tissue paper rug.

And the second that intrigued me, was that all of the projects are made of paper…including that DIY wall art piece below. PAPER! Pretty crazy, right?

There are templates in the back of the book to help guide you through the projects as well, making each idea nearly fool-proof. So even if you’ve never tried a paper craft before, you can still very easily jump into the projects from the book.

If you’re a DIY lover (and if you’re here I’m going to assume you are), this book is one to buy! It’s available on Amazon right here and wherever books are sold. Follow along the rest of the Craft the Rainbow blog tour on Brittany’s blog, The House that Lars Built.

Aren’t those great! I love them too…they remind me a little bit of the wood leather tassels I made a while back. Never would have thought to try curtain tiebacks. Very clever.
