A Camp Inspired DIY to Cure the Monday Blues

leather diy

Did you go to summer camp when you were a kid? Because if you did, let me just tell you that I’m totally jealous. I always wanted to go when I was young!

For those of us that never got the chance to live out that (mini) childhood dream, I have a DIY just for you…Inspired by those cool merit badges and leather crafts from the old, summer camp days, I created hand stamped escort cards for Project Wedding. Full tutorial hereI’m guessing that since P & S isn’t a wedding blog, that you’re most likely not getting married anytime soon (or maybe you are, in which case, congrats!), but have no fear, you can totally use this technique to create gift tags or a necklace instead. I made some gift tags like this over the weekend and they were so much fun. You have to try it.

You’ll just need some leather scraps (which you can find right here on Amazon), metal stamps, and a few other items. Easy peasy. I’m telling ya. Check out the step by step instructions on Project Wedding.

P.S. Metal stamps and a wooden mallet are pretty much the perfect combo of DIY tools for getting out aggression. So I guess you could say that this DIY is the perfect way to cure the Monday blues.

That’s a great idea Grace. These would make perfect luggage tags.

Hi Alex. I actually bought the stamps at a local store in Jacksonville. I’ll see if I can find them online though and will post a link.

These are amazing! I am obsessed with my metal stamp set but I really like the font on yours. Can I ask where you got it?
