Exploring Science: Contagious Jewelry

When I was in middle school, and even throughout high school, I was fascinated by science. Since then, my interest has trickled away. But when I discovered Contagious about a month back, where you’ll find quite a few pieces inspired by the sciences, I was reminded of those years ago. Instantly, my fond science memories came rushing back.

Definitely a refreshing shop to visit. And with all the jewelry shops out there these days, it is so nice when you find one that is doing something unique. According to Ruth herself (the talent behind Contagious),  “Muses are everywhere from molecules, mold, and viruses, to the patterns in botany and zoology.” Every piece is designed by Ruth and handmade by her as well from sterling silver, 14 k gold, and occasionally 18k gold.

Visit Contagious on etsy to view the entire jewelry collection.

We carry Ruth’s work and her pieces never cease to fascinate our customers. I own a pair of her “catkin” earrings myself and they are one of my favorites. Such unique and inspiring work – congrats on the well-deserved feature!

Thank you for all the kind words! When I’m in the studio, I make work for myself; it’s such an added bonus for me when the pieces resonate with others.
