Hooray for Hand-lettered Type

This post was written by Christina of Down and Out Chic.

There’s something incredibly charming about hand lettered typography. There are so, so many options when it comes to hand lettered paper goods and below are a few of my recent favorites:

adventure island $18 & let’s run away $18 by leah flores via society 6

blooms and branches greeting card collection $15 by the black apple

van gogh quote $12 by oh my deer

by mary kate mcdevitt,  shop prints here

hello beautiful postcards $15 by sparrow nest script

success is: poster $35 by  satsuki shibuya

Where do you find type inspiration?

I really like the handwriting style on the Van Gogh quote. I just like how it spikes up and sweeps around like it does.

I also like the color variations of the photo in the “Let’s Run Away” piece. The darker center and paler edges are nice.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts Preemie. You have good taste. I like the Van Gogh quote lettering as well. My absolute favorite though is the one at the very top – ADVENTURE. 🙂

hi, brittni! the first few are my favourites. my friend sonja ahlers has the most beautiful penmanship – used in much of her art [and in my mini meow tote by fieldguided]. i even have her mixed tapes from ages ago – kept mostly for her handwriting.

Beautiful. I am obsessed with hand lettering. I get asked to make mine into a font all the time but I don’t want to give it away. And I write words differently every time so they never look the exact same. Thanks for sharing!
