Hanging Holiday Centerpiece DIY

A few months ago, I had the opportunity to work on a special project for DIY Network, thanks to the wonderful folks at Curbly. And I can finally share the results with you.

The theme was a midcentury modern / atomic Christmas. Fun, right? I decided to suspend the centerpiece from the ceiling to allow for more room on the table. And chose a few shapes that were decidedly atomic / midcentury to build from moss and styrofoam. You can see the full step-by-step tutorial and a whole lot of photos here on DIY Network.

P.S. There are more awesome atomic Christmas ideas right here (stockings, ornaments, door wreaths, etc).

Thanks Danae. Yep…I always need more room for food on the table (our table is pretty small), especially if it involves sweet treats. 🙂

so fun! i love the combo of moss and mmc motifs! and hanging centerpieces are so perfect, especially for smaller tables, to make room for the food.
