I have been a fan of Heather Smith Jones’s work ever since I can across her pinhole series from way back when. That’s actually how I found her work initially, but what keeps me coming back to her shop time and time again are her seriously lovely watercolor and mixed media pieces.

Letterpress and Photo Set- Finding Winter

Well, yesterday I received an email from Heather to let me know that she had just updated her shop with brand new work! So, of course I hopped over there, giddy with excitement. And what did I find? Absolutely superb work! Even more beautiful than her older work (which I love). It is a multi-media collection called “finding winter, drawing spring” and features original watercolor and mixed media works, letterpress prints, photography, and postcard sets.

“For the “finding winter, drawing spring” collection I am combining the disciplines of drawing, painting, printing and photography to talk about renewing hope within a time of austerity. Recognizing beauty, even brief glimmering moments, can revive our sense of vibrancy. ‘Winter’ and ‘spring’ are metaphors for these thoughts.”
