With the Easter holiday right around the corner, I have been inundated with images of pastel tones used in a modern way (like these graffiti eggs.) So naturally, I’m looking out for some great ways to incorporate pastel colors into the home. Sky blue, mint green, baby pink and soft yellow might feel most at home in the nursery, but thoughtfully combined with simple whites and woods, pastels can make a strong statement without feeling overwhelming.
Don’t forget that you can decide to use just one pastel color if the thought of a mix is just too much for you. Pick your favorite, and add it to neutrals to make it pop, or mix it with similar colors in medium and dark tones to give a space some monochromatic variety. Or go all out and use them all!
How do you incorporate pastels in your home?

The Best of Winter Pastels | The Effortless ChicYou read my mind – I’m having a serious craving for pale pastels and trying my best to talking my boyfriend into doing a little make over on our white furniture! Perhaps it’s the summer mood but these shades just makes me so happy almost feeling like a child again =)
I documented a lot of houses in Hong Kong in pastel shades, which you can find on my blog www.shoebox-living.com

papernstitchI’m mad about these ‘modern’ pastels. You should check out Selina Lake’s new book too ‘Pretty Pastel Style’. It’s amazing!
