As we begin to head into autumn, certain colors start creeping back into our lexicon. The blues of the ocean, greens of new growth and sunny yellows begin to fall by the wayside. We start to think of deeper gold, dark reds, browns and oranges as leaves begin to turn. Orange is always one of my favorites, because it not only has the depth of fall color, but still remains super modern at the same time.
Orange can be brought into the home in everything from small accessories to painted walls to pieces of furniture. One of my favorite uses is to paint out the back panels of white or brown storage shelving. It isn’t quite as strong as a full wall that way, because it’s hidden partly by the objects and books in front of it, but the color shows through to warm up the space. Orange is modern and hip. Orange is never cold, but always cool.

Noemie Ladouceur (@NoemieLadouceur)We had an orange accent wall for years and LOVED it. We recently changed it to purple just for something new, and sometimes I find myself missing the big WOW.
