Being in Georgia and all, it only seemed fair to hit up a peach farm during peach season. And if you follow me on Snapchat (@brittnimehlhoff if you’re interested), you know that I recently did just that. I had only been to a working farm one other time, that I can remember, and it was so long ago it hardly counts.
So I made the hike (it was actually a drive) out to Alto to pick fresh peaches for a farm to table cocktail recipe, with Seven Daughters, that I think you’re going to love. Before we get to the recipe though, let’s talk about the peach orchard!
I had so much fun walking around the grounds with Harmony and snapping pics. We got there pretty early in the morning (all about that light, amairight?) and I kept thinking what an awesome way it was to start the day in a field of peach trees just hanging out.
If you’re in Georgia, I highly recommend visiting Jaemor Farms. There was so much to see, I couldn’t get it all into one post. So, I’ll be sharing a part two to this farm trip at some point (which includes the apple orchard and blackberries). Shout out to Caroline who drove us around on a golf cart so we could explore anything and everything.
Now, who’s ready for some cocktails?
Naturally, they’re color blocked. Because if you’re going to make cocktails, they might as well be on trend. Right? Haha.
And given that I live in Hotlanta, and we’re in the height of summer, these cocktails are frozen. Yum! If it were any more summery, it would come with it’s own pool float. So, let’s do this…
Frozen Strawberry Peach (White) Sangria Cocktail Recipe
Ingredients (makes 1 large serving):
– 2 fresh peaches
– 2 cups of fresh strawberries
– 2 tbsp sugar
– 1 1/2 cups of Seven Daughters Moscato
I chose Moscato for this cocktail because it pairs well with peaches, but you could easily go with another varietal if you want to switch it up.
Remove the pit from the peaches and slice.
Blend 2 sliced peaches, 1 tbsp sugar, and 1 cup of Moscato until they reach a smooth consistency (30-60 second depending on your blender). Pour into a large glass.
Remove the stems from strawberries and slice.
Then blend 2 cups of strawberries, 1 tbsp sugar, and 1/2 cup of Moscato. Carefully pour the strawberry blend into the glass, on top of the peach mixture. I found that tilting the glass and slowly pouring helped to achieve the color blocked look.
Add a peach wedge and it’s ready for sipping.
Note: To get a color blocked cocktail, I blended the peach mix separately from the strawberries, but you could always just blend everything together at once, if you don’t care about the color blocking.
