I grew up beside the sea and I think this has coloured the way I see the world. Until a year ago I lived 10 minutes from the shore and I find that I am missing the pull of the tides, wishing I could go for a stroll along the beach, and not have to drive an hour to have that pleasure. I was spoiled, living so close to the water; when something is so everyday you take it for granted, not knowing that when it is gone you’ll pine for it, yearning for sand between your toes and seagulls soaring overhead. So my Super 16 is dedicated to the ocean, in all its grandeur and majesty.

papernstitchi agree that you never what you have until its gone- taking things for granted- my husband lived literally across the street from the beach for much of his life, and when we started dating, i would always ask him to go but he didn’t usually want to. now that we live a little further inland, i find he is much more open to going. ha!
