Super 16: Scrumptious Food Photography

Food mosaic

Hi everyone, I’m Susannah from Ink on my fingers and Unravelling and I’m very excited to be sharing some inspiring photographs with you each week. As a photographer I spend a lot of time on Flickr, posting my latest shots and searching the site for new visual delights, so it made sense to make my first montage the thing that’s closest to all our hearts: food.

Food sustains us in more ways than one. We gather the family for a Sunday roast or meet friends for coffee and a heart-to-heart. Our childhoods are measured in birthday cakes and chocolate bars, our adult lives with organic veggies and detox drinks. Food tastes good, and it looks good too, but this week’s photographs have more than food in common – look at the circles of plates and glasses, the vintage table cloth, shiny cutlery and those fabulous carved utensils. My Super 16 share an elegance and simplicity, and demonstrate how every meal tells a story. Just like a photograph.

Thanks for letting me loose on your beautiful blog, Brittni! I’ll meet you all here again next week.

I LOVE all these photos. They are so beautiful, but I am especially loving the last two: nice compositions. Great post Susannah!

What gorgeous and “fulfilling” way to start out your time here on PNS blog. I love these shots. I think food is just about the hardest thing to shoot. (I say that because I’ve never done babies. hehe) These are all warm, graceful, and in a way “minimal.” I will need to click through them all! Congrats on the beautiful start! Yay Susannah, and Yay Brittni! =)
