Two Girls Two Postcards

It’s no secret around here that I love collaborations between artists and designers alike. Probably because I have been itching to collaborate with someone myself. But that’s another story…

So, I am thrilled to announce a new blog project between one of my favorite photographers, Shanon Gass, and a new fav, Moa Maria. The project is called TwoGirlsTwoPostcards, which intermingles a love for photography with those special friendships formed online.

TwoGirlsTwoPostcards began the first week of January 2010 with Shanon (who lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota) and Moa (who lives in UmeÃ¥, Sweden) who is a flickr friend of Shanon’s, “exchanging” a virtual postcard every Monday, along with a note to each other.

Eight weeks in to the project, the two have already celebrated a birthday, shared snowy weeks together, and faced a personal family heartache. This blog is addictive, let me tell ya.

Here’s a snippet of what Shanon has to say about the project..

I don’t think one can underestimate the power of the connectedness of online communities. And it’s amazing how the right people find eachother through the maze of the internet. I think that when you find these people, they bring out the best in you, and they are equally as important as the people you see everyday. They are a reflection of what you truly care about and how you see the world.

Wanna get in on the action? Join the TwoGirlsTwoPostcards Flickr Group, and post your own “postcards”.

And visit the TwoGirlsTwoPostcards blog to learn more about this project.

I do agree with the connectedness that you can find with like-minded souls in an online community. There are folks that I have had the pleasure of getting to know strictly online who inspire me every single day with their talents, creative spirits and passion.

So awesome that these two woman from worlds apart could find each other! Bravo!
