Under Pressure…

One of the pressures of running a small business on your own is the feeling that you should always be at home working. And I must admit that I feel guilty whenever I leave to go somewhere that will take me away from work. But today, I am flying to California for a few days to spend time with my Dad for his birthday and I am super excited.

All of my posts are scheduled, so nothing will change here on the blog or site while I am gone. But if you email me, it may take me a day or two to respond. Hope everyone has a great rest of their week.

P.S. These images are from the amazingly talented Carl Kleiner, from his PRESSURE series. Do you ever feel pressured to do or not to do something because of your business?

Thanks for the comments everyone. I had a great time in Cali. Just got back today and am trying to catch back up. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Oh my goodness yes. We are re-painting our whole interior right now, but I’m supposed to be working on my new spring/summer collection (which should’ve been done long ago). It’s so hard to balance personal and work life.

That’s exactly I was feeling yesterday, then I decided to leave everything (I know, it’s hard to do when you are so involved in your work but at time to maintain sanity it needs to be done :)) and go have a date with my girlfriends.

Have a wonderful time! I lived in San Francisco for many, many years and still miss it. Enjoy with no guilt or pressure! 😉

Yes, I make myself feel so guilty if I’m not home working! but I have to remind myself that just because I don’t get paid vacation doesn’t mean that I don’t deserve time off every once in a while. It just means that I have to work harder before I leave and after I get back. But it’s worth it, and the break is good for the soul. Have a great time in CA with your Dad!
