Back when getting from Sarasota to San Diego in just a few hours was still a novelty, this was one of the coolest jobs in the world. Was it the travel alone that made being a mid century flight attendant so fabulous? I think not.
Not only were the outfits and accessories classy, the beverage service was, too.
Bon voyage!

My aunt was a flight attendant in the sixties – but on the first hovercraft which used to run between France and England. She said it was a glamorous, highly sought after job. The hovercraft was not the most smooth of vessels to ride in, but short dresses and high heels were mandatory 🙂

I love all the uniforms and the lifestyle is a bit different from the cattle-call style airlines we see today.
