What if you hit a wall?

This contributor post was written by Tiffany Moore.

I talked to someone yesterday who had taken the start now advice I always give. She had started, taken action, and then…nothing. She immediately hit a wall and just stopped.

Now what? she wanted to know.

I realized this is something we all struggle with. We hope, we dream, we get ready to make our move. And so what happens if it doesn’t work? What happens if we hit a wall? What happens if we start…and get nowhere?

Focus on what you have to learn.

Why did you have a false start? Is it because you needed to do more research? Did you realize that you had to go back and cover the basics? That having an amazing marketing plan won’t get you anywhere without an actual product to sell?

Or perhaps you started and stopped because you realized that your dream project wasn’t a dream project at all. Maybe once you actually put action behind it, the resonance was gone.

No matter what the reason, no matter what your own personal wall looks like, don’t let it be a permanent fixture in your life.

Take stock of what didn’t work, dig deep if you need to, and investigate what you might need to let go of to keep moving ahead.

Hint: there’s probably a story somewhere in your mind about what this should end up being. Start there.

In business, as a creative entrepreneur, you have to be able to learn from your mistakes as those tangible lessons will be the things that keep you going. You’ll grow to see that hitting a wall isn’t an impediment; it’s simply an opportunity for more growth and learning, more than you ever could have imagined.

And even if you have 100 false starts, never give up hope that number 101 is going to be The One.

I promise it will be worth it.

The dreaded “should” gets in the way a lot. Maybe we aren’t stalling, we just didnt land where we thought we “should”.

When things don’t go to plan, it hurts and can make you feel lost. But I’m learning just how strong and determined and “meant to do this” I am by finding the courage to keep going, keep trying, trying something different or even starting over.

Sooner or later I’m going to get there. OX

Perseverance is the key! We should never give up until we reach our aspirations. What was the biggest dream that you ever achieved in your whole life because you did not give up that easily? Thanks for the encouraging words you’ve shared to us.
