How to Make a Mini Flower Bouquet for $2

A mini flower bouquet to brighten your day! I love the idea of creating a small bouquet of flowers like this one as a gift to a friend, a simple thank you, or even to pop a special question...like 'will you be my bridesmaid?'. There's a secret message in this bouquet.

Cost: $2

Materials

  • Scissors
  • String
  • Newspaper
  • Marker or pen
  • Montecasino flowers
  • Solidago

Instructions

Cut stems and strip leaves.

  • Cut small 5-6 sprigs from larger bunches of each flower type and strip the leaves from each stem.

Arrange flowers.

  • Using a combination of Solidago and Montecasino, create a mini bouquet that is about the size of two clenched fists. I used the same method for arranging as I did with my mini bouquet tutorial.

Tie the bouquet.

  • Tie the stems of the bouquet together with string to keep the flowers in place.

Cut the paper.

  • Next, cut a long rectangle from newspaper that is roughly three times the size of your bouquet.

Write a message.

  • Using a marker, write a message, on the newspaper clipping, to your soon-to-be bridesmaid to ask her if she'd like to be in your wedding party.

Wrap it up.

  • Now, wrap the bouquet in the newspaper, keeping the message concealed on the inside of the bouquet, and tie it off with another piece of string.
  • When friends or family open the bouquets to put the flowers in water, the newspaper message will be revealed.

Notes

My favorite part about these mini flower bouquets, aside from the price, is the secret message. It's a nice surprise for whomever you decide to give these little bundles to. Once the newspaper is unwrapped from the bouquet, the message is revealed. Surprise!
I think these little wrapped arrangements would be cool alternatives to standard thank you cards, Valentines gift idea/ greeting cards, weddings, etc.
