Make This: Painted Napkins DIY

DIY // painted napkins project

Update a set of napkins for picnic season with a paint brush and a little bit of fabric paint. The color scheme reminds me of ketchup and mustard, which is perfect for summer…makes me think of barbecues and hot dogs on the grille. But it’s been raining here so much lately, I’ve had to resort to using them for indoor lunches/ picnics for one (how sad is that?).

To make your own set, all you’ll need are some old (or new) napkins, fabric paint, and a paint brush. I just freehanded a different design on each one, waited for them to dry and popped them in the washer/dryer according to instructions on the paint bottle. Super easy! Which is why I didn’t think I needed to include step by step photo instructions. Note: Make sure you use fabric paint and not regular paint, or the painted areas will stiffen up and won’t bond to the fabric.

FYI – The napkins I used for this project are from West Elm and they have tons of colors available if you want to check ’em out.
