My Fave 3 Ingredient Bagel Chips (Recipe)

By Brittni • posted on 02/13/2026

Anyone else a big bagel chip fan around here? I know I am! Been eating some version of these since I was a kid. And, similar to my seed crackers recipe, they’re great on a charcuterie board with dips and spreads too.

I’ve been cooking at home a lot more since our move. Mainly because the kitchen is open to the living room, so I can cook without feeling like I’m missing out anything. And with all this kitchen activity, I’ve landed on a couple of homemade snacks that have quickly become my favorites. The first of which, and also the absolute easiest with only three ingredients, are these bagel chips! A childhood favorite that’s ready in minutes.

Want to make your own? Here’s how…

detail of homemade bagel chips, in small slices with everything seasoning

These are honestly my FAVORITE bagel chips ever…. When I was a kid, my parents used to get garlic bagel chips from the store all the time, and I loved them. But these taste even better and are way cheaper to make too.

To give you a better idea… 6 fresh bakery bagels (not even the frozen kind) cost me $6-8 at the grocery store and I had the other ingredients at home already, so I could technically make 2-3 batches of these for under $10 total.

Ingredients for Easy Bagel Chips (4 servings)

  • 3 medium to large size bagels (my fave combo is 2 everything and 1 plain)
  • 1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder

Bagel Chips Recipe

1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

2. Then, cut whole bagels into slices. Mine were about a 1/4 inch thick, but you can go thinner if you want- just make sure the slices are all about the same width.

Toss into a large bowl.

3. Then, in a small bowl, mix olive oil and garlic powder. Stir until combined. Then pour mixture into the bagel slices and mix with your hands until all bagel pieces are coated.

4. Next, place bagel chips on a baking sheet or tray, spreading them out flat as much as you can.

5. Bake for 50 minutes, turning the sheet or tray every 15 minutes to ensure even baking. Similar to the process of baking chickpeas in oven.

What do you think? What other seasonings would be good for these bagel chips?

Ranch dressing mix that was the “secret ingredient” for bagel chips at the bakery I worked at. Whenever there was a snowstorm and we had a bunch of leftover bagels we would make up a big batch.

I have a ball with this recipe, used everything bagels, stirred galic powder, Italian seasoning salt and black pepper into the olive oil and brushed it on the bagels. Then sprinkled with seasame seeds and Parmesean cheese before baking. We were liberal with the oil, which makes this crisp but not dry. Wow. Thanks so much

I already have an unhealthy relationship with pitta chips, but now bagel chips! Dear lord these garlicky carb babies sound incredible, I’d love a spicy smoky paprika version too!

These look great! I’d probably sprinkle a little bit of onion powder on them, as well.
