You know when you’re talking on the phone with someone and you just start doodling on scrap paper to keep your hands busy? I do that all the time. And often make the same strange shapes over and over again.
So after dyeing a bunch of extra Easter eggs in pastel colors, I thought I’d try some random marker doodles again, as a kind of round 2 on last year’s Easter eggs. The shapes I created are a combo of flowers and abstract eyeball with loopy eyelashes. Quite the combo, huh? I swear I’m normal.
What I love most about this project is that it’s pretty mindless. It’s nice to just shut your brain off while crafting sometimes, don’t you think?
All you need is a marker. Use edible ink markers like these from Amazon if you want to eat the eggs afterwards. Otherwise, any permanent marker will work just fine. You can dye the eggs first to add an extra pop of color, like I did for mine. Or leave them plain if you want to get straight to it. Super easy.

I’m still trying to decide how I feel about these. And I just realized that it’s April Fools Day. This is not an April Fools joke, but it can be if you want it to be.
Have any last minute Easter egg projects that you’ve dyeing to try? Would love to hear what you have in the works.

Karen FarberSo true, The Craftstar. Hadn’t thought of this as an alternative to stickers. That would be perfect.
