This post is brought to you by GOJO, the makers of PURELL® Multi-Surface Disinfectant.
I’ve been trying out different morning smoothies recipes lately and I finally found a couple (fall inspired options) that I really like. But one thing I’m not a big fan of is the cleanup. Does anyone else dirty-up like 500 surfaces during the smoothie making process or is it just me?
So, I teamed up with the PURELL® brand for the launch of their brand new Multi-Surface Disinfectant spray to clean up and disinfect my morning messes in the kitchen AND bring you some layered chia seed smoothie recipes in the process. Yum!
3 Chia Seed Smoothie Recipes
Usually, I eyeball all of the ingredient measurements for smoothies because I don’t feel like smoothies are an exact science. BUT I estimated the measurements here so you can make your own at home. Each recipe below makes one serving.
Blueberry Smoothie Recipe: Add 1 tablespoon of chia seeds to 1/3 cup of coconut milk. Cover and put in fridge for 10-20 minutes. Once the chia seeds are ready, remove them from the fridge. Add 1 1/2 cups of frozen blueberries, 1 whole ripe banana (quartered), and 1 cup of apple juice in a blender along with a couple of ice cubes (if desired). Blend until fully mixed. Then add layers of smoothie in between layers of the chia seed mixture (or mix everything together at once if you don’t care about the layering). Garnish with fresh blueberries and enjoy.
Pumpkin Pie Smoothie Recipe: Add 1 tablespoon of chia seeds to 1/3 cup of coconut milk. Cover and put in fridge for 10-20 minutes. Once the chia seeds are ready, remove them from the fridge. Next, add 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree, 2 whole ripe bananas (quartered), a splash of vanilla extract, cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice to taste, and 3/4 cup of vanilla almond milk in a blender along with a couple of ice cubes (if desired). Blend until fully mixed. Then add layers of smoothie in between layers of the chia seed mixture (or mix everything together at once if you don’t care about the layering). Garnish with fresh cinnamon and enjoy.
Pomegranate Smoothie Recipe: Add 1 tablespoon of chia seeds to 1/3 cup of coconut milk. Cover and put in fridge for 10-20 minutes. Once the chia seeds are ready, remove them from the fridge. Add 1 1/2 cups of fresh pomegranate juice, 2 whole ripe bananas (quartered), and 1/2 cup of apple juice in a blender along with 1/2 cup of ice cubes (or yogurt) if preferred. Blend until fully mixed. Then add layers of smoothie in between layers of the chia seed mixture (or mix everything together at once if you don’t care about the layering). Garnish with fresh pomegranate seeds.
When you’re using multiple ingredients in smoothies, it can get pretty messy with fruits and/or veggies that need to be chopped beforehand, etc. So, I was happy to test out PURELL® Multi-Surface Disinfectant. It kills 99.99% of viruses and bacteria in 30 seconds and because it’s okay to use on food-contact surfaces, it’s worry-free around kids, pets and food.
In a small apartment, I’m a big fan of being able to use just one product to disinfect and clean multiple surfaces. It cuts down on clutter in my teeny tiny cleaning cabinet and just generally makes things easier day-to-day. Super helpful with these morning smoothies because I’m always rushing out the door to get to the studio.
If you’re local here in Atlanta, you can find this PURELL® Multi Surface Disinfectant spray at Publix or online at Amazon.com, Walmart.com or Jet.com.
Which one of these smoothie recipes sounds most like something you would make? Pumpkin pie, blueberry, or pomegranate?

ErikaI’m a huge fan of chia seeds and I’m always looking for good recipes with this awesome seeds. With my new high performance blender I’m finally able to pulverize this seeds and make this awesome smoothies. Because with the high power of the 1200w motor and the stainless steel blade system that’s no problem. And this blender is also very quiet in operation.
