Make This // Gift That: Hand Stamped Ribbon DIY + Crafty Kits as Creative Gifts

The day after I moved to Seattle, back in 2011, I attended a craft conference called School House Craft. At one of the panels from the first conference day, I learned about a local gallery/ studio/ retail shop called Assemble. I had never heard of it before that day (hey, I had literally only lived in Seattle for 24 hours at that point), but I instantly fell in love with their mission. And several of my Seattle blog buddies were friendly with the owners, Andie and Emily. So it became my go-to place for art, small gifts, and cool workshops.

Now, years later, even though I have moved back to Florida, I can still get my Assemble fix whenever I want, from the online shop (and so can you). It’s full of handmade and design-inspired gifts, which is kind of perfect with the holidays right around the corner. So, I partnered up with Andie and Emily to share some of their awesome (and very gift-able) crafting kits, which were recently redesigned.

I love the way the sets are packaged, with the illustrations on top of each box.

You almost don’t even need to wrap it…but if you want to surprise the person you’re gifting it to, I guess it’s best to break out the wrapping paper. Right? So…I DIYed a few ribbons to use for all my wrapped pressies using this rubber stamp kit. Bonus! The kit itself makes for a fun gift or stocking stuffer for DIYers.

All you need to DIY your own rubber stamp ribbon is lay the plain ribbon out on a flat surface, lightly tap your stamp to the ink pad, and then stamp away. Make sure you wait for the ink to dry completely before your use it though or it could smudge. That’s it! You can also use the stamps to customize wrapping paper too, like this, if you want to get extra fancy.

On another note… I’m pretty pumped about their hardcover bookbinding kit because it’s something that I’ve never really tried before. Look how cute the instruction booklet is. Can’t wait to give it a go. More color and print options for book covers here.
