Have you ever made something in the kitchen and immediately thought to yourself you shouldn’t have made it? Not because it didn’t taste good, but because it tasted TOO good?! This recipe is one of those.
In the imaginary land where calories don’t count, comes this crazy french fry concoction that is perfect for football season and backyard barbecues. Pepperoni pizza fries after the jump!
Pepperoni Pizza Fries Ingredients
- 1 lb of frozen sweet potato waffle-cut french fries
- 1/2 lb of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 15-20 slices of pepperoni (you can do more or less if you like)
- 2 tbsp fresh chopped chives or green onions
Pepperoni Pizza Fries Instructions
Preheat oven to 450ºf and cook waffle-cut french fries according to instructions on the package. Mine went in for 22 minutes. Add mozzarella cheese and pepperoni and bake for just a few minutes (enough time for the cheese to melt and pepperoni to heat up). Remove from oven, garnish with chives or green onions. Dig in!
If you’re making this dish for a party, you’ll probably want to make a double batch. It’s super easy to do – just double up the ingredients – you can still fit a double batch on one big sheet pan. You may just need to add some extra baking time to account for the larger quantity.
P.S. You can easily switch this idea out for a different kind of french fries too…or even tater tots if you want to get crazy. I just personally like sweet potato fries.
What do you think? Are you down for some pizza french fries? Yay or nay?
