Spring floral arrangements are so bright and cheery. I’m not even sure its possible to keep yourself from smiling when looking at the flowers that are quintessential spring.
I had a bunch of leftover blooms this weekend after wrapping up a project and couldn’t let them go to waste. So I whipped up a few mini bouquets and wedding boutonnieres.
Once I had them all together, it kind of reminded me of my own wedding. I DIYed all of the flowers for our wedding and we used a lot of yellow. And it got me thinking about DIY weddings and how charming but also a little crazy they can be!
So here’s a flower recipe for making your own spring mini flower bouquet, spring boutonnieres, and other small flower arrangements.
I love floral arrangements in general, but I also really enjoy wedding DIYs. And this post is a little of both. In the past, I’ve shared how to make a bridal bouquet, a fun watercolor postcard ideas for unique save the dates, and even making a vintage ring holder out of a book for walking down the aisle with wedding rings.
And these spring flower arrangements can be used for mini bouquets around the house or as cute wedding centerpieces and wedding boutonnieres. So without further ado, here are all of the spring flower recipes…
These flower recipes would be a good option for Easter and Mother’s Day too, not that anyone is actually thinking that afar in advance at the moment. ANYWAY…
To create a spring flower arrangements in mini bouquet form, you’ll only need a handful of stems (even less if you’re making boutonnieres). Here are a few floral recipes to get you started:
Spring Flower Arrangements
Spring Mini Bouquet Recipe #1
- 3 ranunculus
- 4 billy balls
- 2 sprigs of yellow acacia
- 1 tiny spring of rice flower
Spring Mini Bouquet Recipe #2
- 4 ranunculus
- 3 billy balls
- 4 sprigs of yellow acacia
- 2 tiny spring of rice flower
Spring Mini Bouquet Recipe #3
- 7 ranunculus
- 5 billy balls
- 5 sprigs of yellow acacia
- 4 tiny sprigs of rice flower
And for boutonnieres, you really only need 3 stems – one filler (like acacia), one structured filler (like billy balls), and one little bloom (like ranunculus). Super easy! You can wrap floral wire around the stems to keep them secure, then tie them off with a little velvet ribbon to cover up the wire.
When Jeff and I got married, we went even more basic than that and just did 1 or 2 bills balls wrapped with a tiny sprig of greenery and wrapped the stems in washi tape. So that’s another option as well. Beautiful flower arrangements can be really simple – they don’t have to be elaborate to be amazing.
Spring Boutonniere Recipe #1

- 1 billy ball
- 1 ranunculus
Spring Boutonniere Recipe #2

- 1 sprig of greenery
Spring Boutonniere Recipe #3

That’s it for now on the spring flower arrangements in bouquets and boutonnieres. But before you go. I’m dying to know… Are you as ready for spring as I am? And would you ever (or did you ever) DIY stuff for your wedding?!

Thanks Ashley. Are you local to Atlanta? I get the majority of my flowers for quick projects (like this one) from Hall’s, a wholesaler in Atlanta (O4W area). And then when I have a little more time between projects, I use flowermuse.com a lot. They have an awesome selection!
