Watermelon Granita Recipe

Happy watermelon day! Yep, there’s an actual day for your favorite fruit. And that day is TODAY! So…let’s make some watermelon granita. K?

It’s only three ingredients and you probably already have everything you need at home. Here’s the ingredients list…

Watermelon Granita Recipe

Ingredients:

– 4 cups watermelon, pureed
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 1/4 cup water

Youll also need:

2 quart sauce pan // Whisk // 9″ square pan // Large fork or spoon

Instructions:

1. Start by heating the sugar and water in the sauce pan over medium heat. Cook the solution until it comes to a simmer and cook for about 3 minutes. Remove from the stove and set aside to cool.

2. Once the sugar solution has cooled, add it to the watermelon puree and whisk to combine. Pour into the pan and put the pan into the freezer.

3. Freeze for about 25 minutes and rake with a fork or spoon. Repeat this step a couple more times and your granita is ready.

This is not at all unusual for me in the summer months so I wouldn’t so far as to call it a pregnancy-related craving, but this summer I am intense about my love for all things watermelon, pineapple and fruity flavors in general so I really really really would love to slurp a whole bunch of this down right the hatch right now.
