6 DIYs to Try This Weekend

By Brittni • posted on 02/15/2024

At the end of this weekend, I’m heading to Chicago for a few days (let me know if you have any recommendations). I’ll be working with Ki Furniture to teach a DIY tutorial at their booth at NeoCon. So, if you’re in the area, feel free to stop by. It’s free to register!

Anyway, I’m catching up on some work stuff before I head out and probably won’t be getting to any projects over the next couple of days. BUT I’m happy to live vicariously through you on this one. So if you have some time for a DIY or two, here are a handful of suggestions for you.

1. DIY copper light and hook storage idea from Heju
2. an easy DIY bleaching technique for old linens
3. color blocked floating shelves idea from Oh Joy
4. a 5 minute DIY art hack
5. DIY number pillows from Studio DIY
6. how to sew an apron in 10 minutes

Hope you have a happy weekend!

Thanks so much for the recs, Hannah! I will definitely check these out. Also, we have a couple of Jeni’s here in ATL – didn’t realize there was one in Chicago too. Yum!

I love that apron so much! I need to sew myself one soon.

I second the recommendation for Girl & the Goat, and there are a few other great restaurants on that street: The Publican and Au Cheval in particular. Also any of the Rick Bayless restaurants (Xoco is great for a quick stop) and Jeni’s for ice cream is a MUST! Have fun!

Awesome! Thanks for the recommendation Staci! I’ll have to see if I can get in while I’m there.

Very fun projects! I tell any visitor to Chicago to try to go to the Girl & Goat to eat, but if you can’t get in, go to the Little Goat, which is nearby. Both are run by Stephanie Izard and sooooooo delish. Have fun!

Isn’t that awesome, Michelle?! I love it too!

The copper storage idea looks just fantastic! Thank you for this!
