Get the Look: 70s Meets Miami Summer Outfit

In my mind, the perfect spring / summer outfit is something that feels straight out of the 70s… an off the shoulder striped top, flare jeans, giant earrings, and a unique sandal.

I styled our model from the DIY flower hat project in that exact outfit, as luck would have it. So, I wanted to share some outtakes from that shoot today, along with the sources for getting this look on your own. Click through for all the details.

SUMMER OUTFIT: GET THIS LOOK

SHOES The sandals Kathryn is wearing are Rachel Comey, but they’re no longer available. I really like these Charlotte Stone sandals as another option for a simple outfit like this though. They come in multiple colors too.

TOP The striped knit tee is from Madewell and totally gives off that 70s vibe in my mind, with the off the shoulder design dn ribbed stripes. I swear my mom had a shirt just like that when she was younger.

JEANS The flare jeans Kathryn wore were an Anthropologie sale find (not available online). So, I found another pair (also from Anthro) that I thought were cool with a button fly.

BAG The bag wasn’t in the photos, but this straw Loeffler Randall beach bag is one of my faves right now.

EARRINGS And my favorite Lila Rice earrings – from Bona Drag.

HAT The straw hat Kathryn wore is by Samuji, but it’s a pricey one. So, I found a more affordable hat ($49) from Urban Outfitters that would also be a great match for an outfit like this one.
