Every year, when Jeff and I go to pick out a Christmas tree, I’m looking for the same thing… a tree with character. A squiggly looking top branch here, a quirky crooked tree trunk there. It just makes the holidays a little more memorable (and less stuck up) with a perfectly imperfect tree. Ya know?
And to take the quirkiness one step further this year, we did a googly eye mini tree instead of the typical ornament filled festivities. It makes me smile every time I walk by it and that’s really what’s most important at this point. Don’t you think? There’s a video on my Instagram, right here, if you want to see how a googly eye mini tree dances to Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas is You.
I got the giant googly eyes from Amazon (right here) and just kind of rested them on sturdy branches. Super easy! Probably took about 60 seconds. And would also be pretty cute for a kids tree, etc.

And with that, I’m going to take a couple of days off to spend some time with family. But I’ll be popping in next week with more content. So, I won’t be gone long. Be sure to check back.
Happy holidays and Merry Christmas! See you back here next week.

Thanks Kerr!
BrittniLove it so much. Nice photos!
KerrReally? I bet the googly eyes were perfect for Halloween, Van. Love that idea.
BrittniMy roomie and I used the same eyes on our fridge for Halloween and kept them on for a long time. It’s a fun conversation starter and you can freak friends out by saying the fridge (or in your case, the tree) is WATCHING YOOOOU… 🙂
VanThanks Herbert and Bess.
BrittniEnjoy reading your blog. Have a nice week.
BessYou definitely made it so well!
HerbertAw, thanks Paige. 🙂

Haha. Well, that doesn’t sound so bad. I’ve always loved Cookie Monster, Kimberly. 🙂
BrittniLove it! It reminds me of Cookie Monster for some reason. Happy Holidays, Brittni!
KimberlyThanks Emily. Totally! Adding Christmas accessories would be great… I actually added a non Santa hat for a couple of photos too, but they didn’t make the cut. 🙂
BrittniThis is a super fun idea. I could imagine it being really cute, too, on a front porch, with a scarf and santa hat. Definitely will have to try this out. I also like how you focus on the imperfections. It does make the holiday seem more real and less out of a box!
EmilyGlad I could make you smile, Michelle.
BrittniThat is a hilarious idea, I love it!
