Chips and salsa is honestly one of my favorite snacks (any time of year). And since Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner, it’s giving me one more excuse to dip into a snack recipe that everyone will love. Especially this time of year.
Click through for the recipes for these easy homemade lime chips, plus three original salsa recipes to go with it. Yum!
How to Make Homemade Lime Chips
- 1 package (12 count) small corn tortillas
- 2 fresh limes
- cooking spray (coconut oil spray or olive oil spray are good options)
- coarse sea salt
Preheat over to 350 degrees. Cut each tortilla into 6 chip sized wedges and arrange in a single layer onto a baking sheet. Spray with a very thin layer of cooking spray (coconut oil spray or olive oil spray are great – it helps to make the chips more crisp / crunchy). Then squeeze the juice from one fresh lime over the chips and sprinkle with salt. Bake for about 5-6 minutes and flip. Add another very thin layer of spray, then the juice of the second lime, and sprinkle with salt. Bake again for another 5-6 minutes.
Not a lime fan? Skip the lime and make the chips the exact same way, just minus the lime.
I love homemade salsa and it’s so, so easy to make. We whipped up three different options…one traditional, one spicy, and one sweet. Here we go!
Easy Tomato Salsa Recipe
This is my fave of the three salsas, but I’m also partial to just your basic / traditional salsa.
- 1lb cherry tomatoes
- 1/3 cup of diced onion
- 1/2 fresh jalapeño
- juice from 1/2 lime
- 1/2 tsp salt
- cilantro to taste
Add all of the ingredients to a food processor and blend to your preferred consistency. We chose restaurant style by blending finely. Taste and add more salt, cilantro, or lime to taste if desired.
Easy Green Salsa Recipe
FYI – This one is super spicy! You’ve been warned. Haha.
- 4 oz of diced green chiles
- 1/2 fresh jalapeño
- 2 Tbs of cilantro
- juice from one lime
- dash of salt
Add all of the ingredients to a food processor and blend to your preferred consistency. We chose restaurant style by blending finely.
Easy Pineapple Salsa Recipe
I really like lime, so we added more lime (more than what the recipe called for).
- 1/2 cup of chopped mango
- 1/2 cup of chopped pineapple
- 1/4 cup of diced red onions
- 2 Tbs of cilantro
- juice from one lime
- dash of salt
Add all of the ingredients to a food processor and blend to your preferred consistency. We left this salsa a little more chunky. Taste and add more lime juice, etc if desired.
