Style Files: My August Style Guide

Googly eyes

After the success of last month’s style guide, I thought I would share what I’ve got going on inspiration boards wise this month too. If you get sick of these, let me know. But many of you mentioned that you really loved seeing them. So, if want me to keep ’em coming, you can let me know that too.

This month, I’m still feeling those summer vibes, but also trying to be more aware of the fact that fall will be here before we know it. So, I’ve started bringing in a couple of fall inspiration photos to the mix too. Can you see them sprinkled in there?

About the ribbon (because I know someone is going to ask)…

One thing you might not know about me is that in real life I do my fair share of cussing. It’s a bad habit, I know. But it doesn’t bother me (or most other people I encounter) and I’m a grown woman. So hey, I’m going to keep rolling with it. Though, I have really tightened up on that online, for the most part, because I think its easy to misconstrue things online (not as easy to misconstrue when I’m standing in front of someone telling them how much ‘I love the shit out of my animals’ with a smile on my face).

Long story short, that ribbon was made for me. Made for me I tell ya.

Other things going on with this month’s style guide…. lot of pastels and a few bold colors. The googly eyes are there for good measure (and a reminder not to take myself to seriously).

There are also a few photos that I took sprinkled into this month’s style guide – all from my travels in the last couple of years. Traveling has become more and more important to me. And those photos are meant to remind me of all the things I feel when I hit the road (whether it’s to a new country or a city right outside of Atlanta). Side note…I’m traveling two weeks from today to Grenada and I’m pretty pumped about it. Umbrella drinks, here I come.

That ribbon though.

I love this mood board! It’s like a real life Pinterest board only BETTER! Feeling really inspired to make my own now. I’ve been loving pastels lately, yellow and pink especially

Wow, I love this!! It’s making me want to run to my magazine pile / printer and create my own inspiration board! xx

Love this! Lately I have really been obsessed by blush and mauve-y pinks. I AM NOT a pink girl so this is huge for me, but I feel like the pinks with my grey tones in them are so much more sophisticated and translate well into late summer/fall. I love them with canary yellow and burgundy. And I am loving the return of emerald green (maybe it didn’t return and it’s just me) but I really want to make something bold with that hue soon!

High fives to a fellow girl with the mouth of a sailor, Kiersten. 🙂 And yes – I’m in Atlanta… almost two years now. Been really liking it here so far.

I love that ribbon. Cussing is bad, but at the end of the day, it’s just words! (Cuss queen, right here.) It’s neat how you pull in pastels into the fall. It’s bold when the colors start changing to still wear colors that make you happy!

Also, I had no clue you lived in Atlanta! I’m an Atlanta girl, too! Excited to see more representation of the city on the blogsphere =)
