Today, I’m doing a big video shoot for the holidays, which is getting me pretty excited about Christmas and New Years. But since it’s not even Halloween yet, I’ll spare you the details of actually going into specifics about holiday stuff for now. I will say, I’m pretty excited about it though. If you want a behind the scenes fix, I’ll be sharing a couple of sneak peeks from the shoot on Snapchat today – I’m brittnimehlhoff over there if you want to follow along).
Needless to say, over the weekend, I don’t have much on my agenda. I’ll probably just be vegging out after a pretty crazy week to be honest. But what are you up to? Any fun plans?
If you have some time for a DIY project or two, I have handful of suggestions for you…
1. DIY gold foil wall art from Sugar & Cloth
2. DIY pumpkin lantern from designlovefest
3. DIY ombre chair makeover
4. DIY crochet pizza sweater from Studio DIY
5. Marshmallow cupcakes from designlovefest
6. DIY ballon dipped pumpkins for Halloween (easiest pumpkin project ever)
P.S. I collaborated with an illustrator I really admire, Natalie K Nelson (who has done illustration work for the New York Times, Esquire, Washington Post, and more), on a contest with Principal Financial Group. Photo above is an illustration she did of me. Love her work. Anyway, long story short, you can win a completely custom illustration from Natalie by posting a photo to Instagram. So simple! Details on how to enter right here.
P.P.S. If you’re looking for DIY Halloween costumes to make over the weekend, before October 31st hits, I rounded up 24 of my favorites right here.
Hope you have a great weekend.

Everything looks wonderful, ESPECIALLY the cupcake!
ShehlaI really like the idea of the pumpkin lantern, but how would you keep it from getting rotten super fast? We have a huge problem with fruit flies and bugs in general here, and I wonder if this would attract them.
Mrs. MatchI have already discovered the pumpkin lantern, and I must say that this is an awesome DIY! Thank you for this inspiration!
