I was going through the archives recently and stumbled on my sweet tea popsicle recipe and thought it was worth revisiting. Especially since National Sweet Tea Day is later this week (June 10th). Do you like all of these crazy food and drink holidays, by the way, or are you over them?
So, I asked Linda to whip up an easy granita recipe for peach sweet tea and she nailed it. Super refreshing for summer and SO easy to make with just two ingredients!
Want to make your own? Heres how…
Ingredients:
– 3 cups peach soda
– 3 cups sweet tea (homemade or store-bought)
*Because the side and already sweet tea already contain sugar, there’s no need to sweeten either of them further. The finished granita will be perfectly sweet without being overpowering.
Youll also need:
Two 9″ square pans // Large fork or spoon
Instructions:
Pour the soda into one pan and the sweet tea into another. Put both pans into the freezer. OR if you prefer, mix them together in one large pan.
Freeze for about 25 minutes and rake with a fork or spoon. Be sure to break up any large ice crystals that form. Repeat this step a couple more times and your granita is ready. Serve these two granita flavors together or separately for a different take.
*Pop any leftovers back in the freezer and rake with a fork again when youre ready to eat another bowlful.

What other granita flavors do you think would be good for summer? Watermelon, mango, pineapple? Would love to hear your suggestions.

chelsea jacobsI love peaches! This looks absolutely delicious!
Monique | WritingMoniqueHi Jess. For sodas, great choices are Crush Peach, Stewart’s Peach, or a peach sparkling water drink (like ICE). You can also use peach juice (like Looza). If you do, though, just make sure it doesn’t have grape juice in it. Many juice cocktails have grape juice in them and may have a tough time freezing completely. Hope that helps.
