Breakfast Cereal Fudge Recipe

Recipe // Breakfast Cereal Fudge

Maybe it has something to do with my childhood or maybe it’s just because I still haven’t fully grown up, but my love for cereal runs deep. Especially the sugary variety. The adult in me picks out things with the word ‘oats’ on the box, but the kid in me will always want to grab Lucky Charms and Fruity Pebbles and make a run for it.

So today, I’m rolling with the kid side….to make breakfast cereal fudge!! It’s one part breakfast, one part dessert, and two parts awesome. You’re definitely going to want to try this. Full disclosure – You will need to involve the stove for this one, but I promise, it’s really, really easy.

Heres what you need to make your own”¦

Recipe // Breakfast Cereal Fudge

Ingredients

-5 oz can evaporated milk
-8 tbsp (1 stick) unsalted butter
-3 cups granulated sugar
-7 oz Marshmallow Fluff
-12 oz white chocolate chips
-2 cups of your favorite breakfast cereal

Youll also need:

4-Quart sauce pan // 9″x13″ Cake pan // Heat-safe spatula // Parchment paper

Recipe // How to Make Homemade Fudge with Breakfast Cereal

Instructions:

1. Line the cake pan with parchment paper.

2. Add the evaporated milk, butter, and sugar to the sauce pan. While stirring constantly, bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Be careful to not scald the mixture. Remove from the heat.

3. Add the Marshmallow Fluff and white chocolate chips to the sugar mixture. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is thoroughly combined.

4. Stir in 1 1/2 cups your favorite breakfast cereal. I used Fruity Pebbles and Lucky Charms as my cereal for this recipe and can highly recommend then both. Lucky Charms was my favorite of the two though, if I have to choose just one. Pour the fudge into your prepared pan. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cereal on top of the fudge. Lightly press the cereal in so that it sticks.

5. Let the fudge cool completely. Remove from the pan and cut into pieces.

Have you ever made fudge before? My great grandma used to make it when I was little and I was always so impressed…Fudge seemed like such a hard thing to make. Who knew it was so simple.

I’m super-boring and my favourite cereal is raisin bran… although now that I think about it, a raisin fudge with a little crispiness might be nice, haha! I think I might try this out around Halloween with Frankenberry (and maybe a chocolate one with Count Chocula) — thanks so much for the idea!
