Source Horse: Workspace Breakdown

I got some questions about where little its were from on the workspace makeover and so I put together a whole post that sources everything from that section of the studio. There’s even a few things that I didn’t show in the original post that I’ve since completed that I added in.

The grid organizer is from Urban Outfitters. I actually got it at this place called Final Cut, which is about two hours from Atlanta in Augusta. They only have a FB page – Final Cut on Facebook – but carry tons of old / discontinued / damaged stuff from lots of stores (Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, J Crew, etc). They’ve got a big housewares section with furniture, rugs, lighting, etc and an even bigger clothing section. You have to dig for the good stuff, BUT there are good finds there. You just have to be prepared to really spend some time looking. 🙂

The bandanas hanging off of the grid organizer are from Madewell (the brown, navy, and yellow ones), and then the big long white one is from Coveted Things, and the red colorful one is vintage (I think it was my grandma’s or my mom’s). The straw hat is no longer available, but I do have a big list of cool straw hats  with lots of options. The clear hanging ruler is from Fiskars.

Next up is my desk. This was a DIY…The desktop came from an old desk that we’ve had for years (It’s Modernica). The legs to this one got bent in a move and then we lost one of them in our most recent move. So, I got some new ones. I used the pastel green hairpin legs from The Hairpin Leg Co, but they have lots of other colors if green isn’t your thing. In case you’re wondering, you can still order from them in the US even though they’re based in the UK and they ship SUPER fast. I got mine in two or three days!

Above the desk is a vintage mini rug that I thought was far too pretty to keep on the floor. I just hung it from a couple of nails. It’s from a local shop in ATL called Paris on Ponce. The brass piece is from a local shop called Citizen Supply (remember it from this DIY wall hanging?). And the black and white piece is a DIY art piece from a wallpaper sample.

On the desk is an old terra cotta wine holder from Ikea (no longer available – similar), that I’m using for long matches (from Fredericks& Mae), a vintage cork planter, and a woven Ikea basket with lid. The green geometric piece of art is actually a trivet I found on sale at West Elm (no longer available).

The shelving unit is from Modernica as well. It matched the desk at one point and we bought them around the same time. You might remember this guy from our last place ( it was in our living room reveal). But when we moved into a smaller apartment earlier this year, this shelf made it’s way over to the studio. I love having it here – I can ALWAYS use more storage.

On the shelf, starting from the very top and working my way down, is a DIY pie graph painting that we made a couple years ago for this post: holiday entryway refresh. And then an old Room and Board vase (blue) and an (old) pink CB2 vase.

The next shelf has a mint green Fort Standard standing bowl (which is holding West Elm coasters for a project we never got around to) and a white Pigeon Toe Ceramics bowl that I’m using to hold extra roving for now.

The giant bowl on the next shelf is from Neighborly – filled with We Are Knitters yarn. And the box is from a big set from HAY (no longer available) and the pink organizer is from Urban Outfitters.

The last two shelves mostly have stacked books (here are some of my fave books right now) and some more HAY boxes, along with a few from Ikea. Can never have too many boxes! Oh, and the little terra cotta pot is from Ferm Living.

Lastly, there’s the white bullet planter, which was a gift from my mom a few years ago, is from DWR. And the planter that holds that fiddle leaf fig tree is a terrazzo planter from West Elm that I got on sale for $40!

The hats behind the plants are mostly vintage, but there are a few that made their way into the straw hat roundup I mentioned earlier.
